Guided educational tour is a potent part of learning processes. The components are but not limited to industry based learning, professionally engaged pedagogy, diversity, inclusiveness and parity. The ultimate goal is to ensure the acquisition of practising skills for excellent performance by upcoming professionals. Field tour serves as veil and blockade removal from the sight and ways of the learner. It is a technique that completes the circle of learning.

The guided tour to Ghana as packaged will enable students to experience logistics, transport and supply chain operations at production companies, airport and seaports, waste management outfit, etc. This tour is also a platform that will give opportunity to the students to meet and network with their peers, interact with senior professionals and practitioners. There are also planned practical lectures and demonstration in all the organisations lined up for the tour. This programme is geared towards preparing young professionals for the future. This programme is organised by Centre for Logistics and Transport Education (CELOTE) in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, (CILT) Ghana. Date: 27th – 29th of July, 2015

Established in 1961, Ghana Institute of Public Administration,( GIMPA) is the leading public tertiary educational institution that awards certificates, diplomas and degrees up to the doctoral levels . The area include leadership, management, public administration and technology. GIMPA is an accredited trainer of CILT International.

GHANA AIRPORT/AVIANCE GHANA


The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) is a major aviation company in Ghana. It is responsible for planning, developing, managing and maintaining all airports and aerodromes in Ghana namely, Kotoka International Airport (KIA), and regional airports: Kumasi, Tamale, Sunyani as well as various airstrips. While Ghana Aviance is responsible for freight forwarding.

ZOOMLION GHANA



Zoomlion Ghana Limited is a giant in waste management (Reverse Logistics) as well as janitorial and environmental sanitation business in Ghana. Zoomlion also operates in other African countries such as Togo, Angola, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea and Liberia. Zoomlion was majorly responsible for all environmental sanitation services during the African Cup of Nations in Ghana in 2008 and the African Cup of Nations at the Ultra modern 11th November Stadium in Luanda, Angola in the year 2010.

GHANA SEAPORT

The Port of Tema is the largest port in Ghana. Situated on the eastern coast of the country, it stretches over a 3.9 million square metres of land area. The port receives an average of over 1650 vessel calls per year. This comprises container vessels, general cargo vessels, tankers, Ro-Ro and cruise vessels, amongst many others.

Set within the industrial city of Tema and 30 km from the capital city of Ghana, the port’s environs serve as a logistic point for activities of Inland Clearance Depots (ICDs), Warehouses, Transport and haulage companies, freight forwarders, factories and related service centres.

  2. Flying and returning by road – N101,600 (Early Bird) N121,600 (Late Registration)
